Try this beef stew recipe... a classic one !

BEEF STEW RECIPES INGREDIENTS:

* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* 1 1/2 pounds stewing beef
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 1/2 cup sliced celery
* 3 cups beef broth
* 2 carrots
* 2 medium potatoes
* 1/2 cup baby lima beans
* 1 cup apple juice
* 1/2 cup frozen corn kernels
* 1 jar (12 ounces) small white onions, drained, or about 1 dozen frozen, thawed
* salt and pepper, to taste
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 2 tablespoons cold water

BEEF STEW RECIPES INSTRUCTIONS
In a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the beef in the vegetable oil; add onion and celery and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes longer. Add beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Add the carrots, potatoes, lima beans, and apple juice; simmer for about 30 to 40 minute longer, or until vegetables are tender. Add drained onions and corn; continue cooking for 5 to 10 minutes.

In a small bowl or cup, combine flour with cold water until smooth. Add the mixture to the simmering broth, a little at a time, until stew is thickened. Taste and add salt and pepper.
Serve with hot buttered biscuits or cornmeal. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve. Have a nice meal !

BEEF STEW RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

* 1 1/2 pounds stew beef
* 3/4 cup flour
* 1 teaspoon onion powder
* 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
* 1 to 2 medium carrots, sliced
* 2 ribs celery, sliced
* 1 medium onion, diced
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* 2 cups beef broth
* 1 cup dry red wine, such as Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon
* 1/2 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary, or a dash of crumbled dried rosemary
* 1 jar (15 ounces) small onions, or 10 to 16 ounces frozen small onions, thawed

BEEF STEW RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
First of all trim beef stew and cut in small bite-size pieces. And then put in a food storage bag with the flour, onion powder, and seasoned salt; toss to coat well.
Next is to heat oil in a large saucepan or Dutch oven; add beef stew to hot oil and cook, stirring, until lightly browned. And then add the onion and celery; continue cooking, stirring, for about 3 minutes. Add carrots, garlic, broth, wine, and rosemary; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add drained or thawed onions. Continue cooking for about 20 to 30 minutes, or until beef is tender. Serve with biscuits or hot cooked noodles. ITALIAN BEEF STEW WITH ROSEMARY

Beef Stew Recipes Ingredients
:
  • 1 1/2 lbs. lean beef
  • 3 c. fresh or canned peeled tomatoes with basil
  • 3/4 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley, preferably Italian, loosely packed
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 c. dry white wine
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary or 1 tsp. dried rosemary leaves
  • 8 thin slices French or Italian bread
  • 1 whole clove garlic, peeled
Beef Stew Recipes INSTRUCTIONS
1. Trim meat, cut it into one inch cubes.

2. In a saucepan, combine the tomatoes, celery, parsley, oregano, thyme, oil and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and bring to boil. Simmer about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Put the sauce through a food mill and set aside.

3. Meanwhile, heat 1/4 cup butter in a wide flameproof casserole. Add the beef and cook, stirring, until the meat loses its red color. Add the chopped garlic and stir. Transfer the meat to another dish.

4. Add the wine to the casserole and cook over high heat until it is reduced by half. Add the meat, the rosemary, and the tomato sauce and, if necessary, salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

5. Meanwhile, spread the bread with butter and toast on both sides under the broiler. Rub on both sides with the garlic clove, place 2 slices in 4 hot soup bowls, and spoon the meat and sauce over all. The Beef Stew Recipes is ready to erve hot and makes 4 servings...enjoy it !

  • 2 lbs. beef for stew
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 lg. potatoes, peeled and chopped into chunks
  • 3 lg. carrots, peeled and cut into thick slices
  • 1 (approximately 16 oz.) bag frozen peas
  • 2 cans beef broth
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • Flour in a plastic bag
  • 2 tbsp. cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Beef Stew Recipes Instructions :
First of all Cut beef into bite-size cubes. Add beef cubes to flour in bag and shake until cubes are coated with flour. Heat oil in large pot. Add celery, onion and bay leaf. Saute until onions and celery are translucent but not browned. Add the beef a little at a time to the pan and brown beef completely. Add beef broth and tomato sauce. If necessary, add enough water to cover beef. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover pot and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until beef is tender. Add carrots and potatoes. * 1 pound cubed stew meat
* 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 1 cup chopped onion
* 1 cup chopped celery
* 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed tomato soup
* 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes with juice
* 1/4 cup water
* 1 cup noodles
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1 cup grated American or mild Cheddar cheese
* 1 1/2 cups frozen peas and carrots, thawed

BEEF STEW RECIPES INSTRUCTIONS:
Brown the cubed beef in Dutch oven or large skillet in hot oil over medium heat. Add tomato soup, tomatoes, water, noodles, and seasonings. Cover and cook until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring often. Add a little hot liquid to the grated cheese, then stir into the meat mixture. Cook 15 minutes longer. Add peas and carrots; cook for about 7 minutes longer, until

BEEF STEW RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

* 2 beef shanks, meaty, about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds
* 3 cups beef broth
* 1 can (approx. 10.5 ounces) condensed French onion soup
* 4 cups water
* 1/2 to 3/4 cup sliced celery
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 2 medium carrots, sliced, about 1 to 1 1/2 cups
* 2 to 3 medium red-skinned potatoes, peeled and cut in 1/2-inch pieces, about 2 to 2 1/2 cups
* 1 medium white turnip, cubed, about 1 cup
* 1/2 cup frozen corn kernels
* 1/2 cup frozen lima beans or baby limas, optional
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt or Creole seasoning
* 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 4 tablespoons flour mixed with an equal amount of cold water

BEEF STEW RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
In a stockpot or Dutch oven, combine beef shanks, broth, onion soup, water, celery, and onion. Bring to a simmer and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Cover and cook over low heat for about 45 to 60 minutes. Add carrots, potatoes, and white turnip. Cook for 20 minutes longer. Remove beef and cut up. Discard fat and bones.
Return the cut-up beef to stockpot, along with corn, Lima beans, and seasonings. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes, or until Lima beans are tender. Combine the flour and water; stir into the stew mixture. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally for about 10 to 20 minutes, until thickened. Taste and adjust seasonings. * 1 scant teaspoon curry powder
* 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* dash pepper
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 2 ribs celery, sliced
* 1 medium onion, diced
* 3 cups beef broth
* 1 small to medium sweet potato, peeled and cut into small cubes
* 2 carrots, chopped
* 2 small to medium potatoes, peeled cut into small cubes
* 1/2 cup baby lima beans
* 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes with juice

BEEF STEW RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
In a plastic food storage bag, combine cubed beef, flour, curry powder, ginger, onion powder, salt, and pepper; set aside. In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add celery and onion;
saute until just tender. Add the beef and any excess flour, stirring well. If necessary, add a little more oil. Continue cooking, stirring, until beef is lightly browned. Add beef broth; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add sweet potato, carrots, potatoes, and lima beans. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes longer.

Beef Stew Recipes Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound 5 ounces lean stewing steak, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 2 green bell peppers, halved, seeded and thickly sliced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 5 tablespoons brewed coffee
  • salt and pepper

Beef Stew Recipes Instructions:
This is a Brazilian recipe. Heat the oil in a pan, add the meat and cook, stirring frequently, until browned all over. Remove the meat with a slotted spatula and keep warm. Add the onions, garlic and bell peppers to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes. Sprinkle in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes, Gradually stir in the wine and coffee and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.   • l can (14 l/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tblsp quick-cooking tapioca
  • 2 teasp sugar
  • l l/2 teasp salt
  • l/2 teasp pepper
  • 2 lbs lean beef stew meat, cut into 1" cubes
  • 4 medium carrots, cut into 1" chunks
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 celery ribs, cut in 3/4" chunks
  • l medium onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 slice bread, cubed

Beef Stew Recipes Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, water, tapioca, sugar, salt and pepper. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Pour into a greased l3x9x2 pan. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for l 3/4 to 2 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.

Beef Stew With Cheese Dumplings Recipe

Beef Stew Recipes Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. beef stew meat*, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 16-oz. can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon instant beef granules
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • Dumplings(see recipe below)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese(2 oz.)
  • 2 medium zucchini, cut into 1/2-in. slices
Dumplings:
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon snipped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Beef Stew Recipes Instructions:
In a Dutch oven brown meat in oil; drain. Stir in undrained tomatoes, celery, onion, bouillon granules, oregano, garlic, 2 cups water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Bring to boiling. Simmer, covered, 1-1/2 hours or till meat is tender. Combine flour and 3/4 cup water; stir into stew. Cook and stir till thick and bubbly.

Prepare dumplings,(see below) adding 1/4 cup cheese to flour mixture. Add zucchini to stew; return to boiling. Drop dumpling batter from a tablespoon to make 4 mounds atop boiling stew. Cover; simmer for 10 to 12 minutes(DO Not lift cover till time to check) or till a toothpick comes out clean. Sprinkle cheese on dumplings. Serves 4.

Dumplings:
In a medium bowl stir together the flour, parsley, baking powder, salt and thyme. In a small bowl combine the milk and cooking oil; add to flour mixture. Stir with a fork just till combined.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 lb. stewing beef, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 4 c. beef stock
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried prunes
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch, dissolved in 1/2 cup cold water
  • Oat Flour Biscuits (see recipe)

INSTRUCTIONS
Melt butter in a Dutch oven. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides. Add onions and saute until translucent. Stir in stock, apricots, prunes, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for about 2 hours or until meat is tender. Discard garlic. Remove meat with a slotted spoon. Add cornstarch mixture to pot and stir constantly over medium heat until gravy thickens. INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1" cubes
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. shredded fresh ginger
  • 2 med. onions, cut into thin wedges
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes, undrained, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 c. Pace Picante sauce
  • 1/4 c. dry sherry
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, halved or quartered
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3 c. broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
  • Hot cooked rice

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown half the meat at a time on all sides in hot oil in large saucepan. Remove meat; sprinkle with soy sauce and ginger; reserve. Cook onion and garlic in drippings in same saucepan until tender. Add meat, tomatoes, Pace Picante sauce, sherry, mushrooms and sugar.
Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 2 lbs. cubed stewing beef
  • 12 oz. ginger ale
  • Crushed red pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 10 oz. fresh (or frozen) spinach
  • 4 med. onions
  • 2 whole tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in heavy saucepan. Brown the beef, adding oil as needed. Add gingerale, red and black pepper, and salt to taste.
Add chopped tomato; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Meanwhile, wash the spinach and remove stems. Tear leaves into small pieces. Slice the onion thinly and separate into rings. Slice the tomatoes.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. stew beef
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 1 lg. onion, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 4 fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 potatoes, cut in half
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 c. cut up turnips
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • 2 c. beef broth

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine flour, salt and pepper in sandwich bag. Dredge beef in flour mix; brown in butter in cast iron skillet. Remove meat. Add 2 cups broth to skillet; stir. Put all of the ingredients in bean pot;
cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

HINTS: This can be made in a pot on top of the stove. Do not freeze once you have added the potatoes. If a thicker stew is desired, either thicken with a little flour mixed with broth to make a paste or add a package of gravy mix. Cooking slowly on the back of the stove will make the stew thicken slightly.

SPICY BEEF STEW RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lb. lean beef stew meat
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
  • 4 carrots, peeled, cut in large chunks
  • 4 sm. onions, quartered
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. water

INSTRUCTIONS
Trim fat from meat and add to hot heavy casserole to grease bottom. Remove pieces and discard. Cut meat in 2 inch cubes and brown quickly. Sprinkle sugar over meat and brown until sugar carmelizes giving rich brown color.

Add salt, allspice, bay leaf, cider, and beef broth. Bring to boiling and add carrots and onions. Return to simmer. Cover and place in oven at 350 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours (until meat is tender). In paper bag, combine 1 tablespoon flour, salt and pepper and beef cubes. Shake. Brown beef in hot oil. Add onion, 1st cup water and apple juice. Cover and simmer until meat is tender. Add vegetables, spices, 2nd cup water. Simmer until tender. Blend together remaining water and flour. Stir into stew. Cook until thickened. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve....great ! INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil or bacon grease
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 3 lb. stew beef
  • 5 potatoes

  • 1 onion
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 5 c. water

INSTRUCTIONS
Fry bacon and use grease to brown stew beef. (Coat beef in flour before frying.) Chop potatoes, carrots, and onion. Add to browned stew beef. Add water and crumbled bacon. Bring to boil. Then reduce heat and let simmer in pot on low heat until meat and vegetables are done. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve...enjoy the meal !

INGREDEINETS
  • 3 lbs. beef cubes
  • 1 env. Lipton's Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can (28 oz.) whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 lg. red onion, sliced
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen tiny lima beans
  • Brown rice, cook according to pkg. directions

INSTRUCTIONS
If beef is in large cubes, cut each cube in half to make bite sized pieces.
In large soup pot cover beef with water. Boil for 1/2 hour. Pour off scum. Rinse beef. Return to pot. Add just enough water to cover.
Add sliced onion and onion soup mix. Cover pot and simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Add stewed tomatoes and whole tomatoes (that you have broken up) and lima beans. Simmer until beans are tender. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve over brown rice...nice ! Enjoy it !

GOLD RUSH BEEF STEW
Try this great beef stew recipe !
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean beef stew meat
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 lg. onions, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. wine vinegar
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 3/4 c. pitted prunes
  • 1/3 c. raisins

INSTRUCTIONS
Toss beef with 2 tablespoonfuls of flour, salt and paprika. Brown slowly in oil. Push meat to one side. Add onions. Brown slightly. Add tomatoes, bay leaf and vinegar. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender. Add carrots, prunes and raisins. Simmer for 15 minutes longer, until carrots are tender.

Mix remaining tablespoonful of flour with a little cold water to make a thin, smooth paste. Stir into stew. Simmer until slightly thickened. The beef stew recipe is ready to serves 6. Nice one ! Enjoy it !
