SNAP'S BEEF STEW

SNAP'S BEEF STEW RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil or bacon grease
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 3 lb. stew beef
  • 5 potatoes
  • 5 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 5 c. water

INSTRUCTIONS
Fry bacon and use grease to brown stew beef. (Coat beef in flour before frying.) Chop potatoes, carrots, and onion. Add to browned stew beef. Add water and crumbled bacon. Bring to boil. Then reduce heat and let simmer in pot on low heat until meat and vegetables are done. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve...enjoy the meal !

LO FAT BEEF STEW

INGREDEINETS
  • 3 lbs. beef cubes
  • 1 env. Lipton's Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can (28 oz.) whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 lg. red onion, sliced
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen tiny lima beans
  • Brown rice, cook according to pkg. directions

INSTRUCTIONS
If beef is in large cubes, cut each cube in half to make bite sized pieces.
In large soup pot cover beef with water. Boil for 1/2 hour. Pour off scum. Rinse beef. Return to pot. Add just enough water to cover.
Add sliced onion and onion soup mix. Cover pot and simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Add stewed tomatoes and whole tomatoes (that you have broken up) and lima beans. Simmer until beans are tender. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve over brown rice...nice ! Enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean beef stew meat
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 lg. onions, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. wine vinegar
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 3/4 c. pitted prunes
  • 1/3 c. raisins

INSTRUCTIONS
Toss beef with 2 tablespoonfuls of flour, salt and paprika. Brown slowly in oil. Push meat to one side. Add onions. Brown slightly. Add tomatoes, bay leaf and vinegar. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until meat is tender. Add carrots, prunes and raisins. Simmer for 15 minutes longer, until carrots are tender.

Mix remaining tablespoonful of flour with a little cold water to make a thin, smooth paste. Stir into stew. Simmer until slightly thickened. The beef stew recipe is ready to serves 6. Nice one ! Enjoy it !

BARBECUE STEW BEEF

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup
  • 1 catsup bottle of water
  • 3 tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 1 lg. lean boneless stew beef

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix together chili powder, brown sugar, vinegar, onion, and Worcestershire sauce all together and set aside. Instead of catsup, I like to mix enough of all the barbeque sauces I have in the house together to make 14 ounces. Add this to the other mixture and add the water. Stir all this together.

Line a 9 x 13 inch pan with enough tin foil to be able to close up.
Layer stew beef over the tin foil and pour sauce over this. Close up the foil. Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve...nice ! Enjoy it !

OLD FASHIONED BEEF STEW

OLD FASHIONED BEEF STEW

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 lb. beef stew meat
  • 3 tbsp. bacon drippings
  • 1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1 qt. water
  • 2 bags frozen stew vegetables
  • 1 c. frozen green peas (added during last 10 minutes)
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Several drops of Kitchen Bouquet
  • 2-3 dashes hot pepper sauce (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
In a plastic bag, combine flour with 1 teaspoon salt. Add beef stew meat cubes, shake to coat.
In a large saucepan, brown meat, in the hot bacon drippings. Add water, soup mix and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes, until beef is nearly tender. Add vegetables, cover and simmer for 30 minutes more.

If you need to thicken the beef stew some, use 1/4 cup of the leftover seasoning flour, mixed with 1/2 cup cold water, (make sure there are no lumps) and stir into the stew. Cook an additional 5 minutes. The beef stew recipe is ready...enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. stew beef cubes
  • 4-6 carrots, cut up
  • 10-12 pearl onions
  • 4-6 potatoes, cut in cubes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 c. red wine
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown stew beef cubes (you can coat in flour). After browned, put in crock pot. De-glaze pan with 1/2 cup red wine and pour into crock pot with beef stew cubes. Add cut up carrots, onions, garlic and potatoes along with Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Cook on high for 3-4 hours in crock pot. Add water as necessary (salt and pepper to taste). The beef stew recipe crock pot is ready to serve ! Nice...enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 pounds rump roast, trimmed, cut into 2" chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 medium potato, peeled and quartered
  • oil, for frying
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

INSTRUCTIONS
Cook beef, garlic, onions, tomatoes, soy sauce and bay leaf in pan till meat is tender, about 45 minutes to an hour. About 30 minutes before meat is cooked, fry potatoes in oil till browned. Drain all but 1 tablespoon oil from pan and add garlic. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove meat from sauce and add to sauteed garlic. Brown meat then add potatoes and sauce mixture to meat and garlic. Heat to boiling then remove from heat. This nice beef stew recipe is ready to serve. Enjoy it !
