BISCUITS AND BEEF STEW

BISCUITS AND BEEF STEW ...a great beef stew recipes to try ! Nice one !

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 lb. stewing beef, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 med. onion, chopped
  • 4 c. beef stock
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 c. chopped dried prunes
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch, dissolved in 1/2 cup cold water
  • Oat Flour Biscuits (see recipe)

INSTRUCTIONS
Melt butter in a Dutch oven. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides. Add onions and saute until translucent. Stir in stock, apricots, prunes, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for about 2 hours or until meat is tender. Discard garlic. Remove meat with a slotted spoon. Add cornstarch mixture to pot and stir constantly over medium heat until gravy thickens. Return meat to gravy and keep stew warm while biscuits are prepared. The beef stew recipe is ready..enjoy it !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. beef stew meat
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 c. cider
  • Cabbage wedge
  • Ginger snaps
  • Hot water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown beef cubes, add onions. Cool until tender. Add salt and pepper, caraway seeds, and bay leaf. Cover with warm water and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add cider and cabbage; cover and cook until tender. Remove beef and cabbage. Dissolve ginger snaps and add to gravy. Serve over

Try this lively anad great combination of beef stew recipe of meat and vegetables with the World's Greatest Picante Sauce. Amazing taste !

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef stew meat, cut into 1" cubes
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. shredded fresh ginger
  • 2 med. onions, cut into thin wedges
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes, undrained, coarsely chopped
  • 3/4 c. Pace Picante sauce
  • 1/4 c. dry sherry
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, halved or quartered
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3 c. broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
  • Hot cooked rice

INSTRUCTIONS
Brown half the meat at a time on all sides in hot oil in large saucepan. Remove meat; sprinkle with soy sauce and ginger; reserve. Cook onion and garlic in drippings in same saucepan until tender. Add meat, tomatoes, Pace Picante sauce, sherry, mushrooms and sugar.
Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender.
Stir in broccoli; cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in cornstarch mixture; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Serve with rice and additional Pace Picante sauce. The beef stew recipe is ready...bon apetit !

NIGERIAN BEEF-SPINACH STEW

NIGERIAN BEEF-SPINACH STEW ....try this unique beef stew recipe...nice !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 2 lbs. cubed stewing beef
  • 12 oz. ginger ale
  • Crushed red pepper
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 10 oz. fresh (or frozen) spinach
  • 4 med. onions
  • 2 whole tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in heavy saucepan. Brown the beef, adding oil as needed. Add gingerale, red and black pepper, and salt to taste.
Add chopped tomato; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Meanwhile, wash the spinach and remove stems. Tear leaves into small pieces. Slice the onion thinly and separate into rings. Slice the tomatoes.

Mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water. Stir into the stew and cook 1 minute until slightly thickened. Add onion rings, tomato, spinach. Simmer until vegetables are tender. Serve with rice or noodles. The beef stew recipe Nigerian style is ready to serve,...enjoy the feasts !

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. stew beef
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 1 lg. onion, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 4 fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 potatoes, cut in half
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 c. cut up turnips
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • 2 c. beef broth

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine flour, salt and pepper in sandwich bag. Dredge beef in flour mix; brown in butter in cast iron skillet. Remove meat. Add 2 cups broth to skillet; stir. Put all of the ingredients in bean pot;
cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

HINTS: This can be made in a pot on top of the stove. Do not freeze once you have added the potatoes. If a thicker stew is desired, either thicken with a little flour mixed with broth to make a paste or add a package of gravy mix. Cooking slowly on the back of the stove will make the stew thicken slightly.
This reheats nicely in the crock pot and can be left on the counter for 1 meal while you go shopping.The beef stew recipe is ready...enjoy the feasts !.

SPICY BEEF STEW

SPICY BEEF STEW RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lb. lean beef stew meat
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
  • 4 carrots, peeled, cut in large chunks
  • 4 sm. onions, quartered
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. water

INSTRUCTIONS
Trim fat from meat and add to hot heavy casserole to grease bottom. Remove pieces and discard. Cut meat in 2 inch cubes and brown quickly. Sprinkle sugar over meat and brown until sugar carmelizes giving rich brown color.

Add salt, allspice, bay leaf, cider, and beef broth. Bring to boiling and add carrots and onions. Return to simmer. Cover and place in oven at 350 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours (until meat is tender). Stir cornstarch into water. Stir mixture into stew. Cook until thickened. Flavor improves if served following day. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve...enjoy it !

SHAKER BEEF STEW RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Dash pepper
  • 1 lb. stew beef (in cubes)
  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 c. water (I use apple juice)
  • 1/2 c. apple juice
  • 1 med. rutabaga, peeled & diced (about 2 c.)
  • 3 lg. carrots, diced
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tbsp. parsley
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/8 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 tbsp. flour

INSTRUCTIONS
In paper bag, combine 1 tablespoon flour, salt and pepper and beef cubes. Shake. Brown beef in hot oil. Add onion, 1st cup water and apple juice. Cover and simmer until meat is tender. Add vegetables, spices, 2nd cup water. Simmer until tender. Blend together remaining water and flour. Stir into stew. Cook until thickened. The beef stew recipe is ready to serve....great !
